Buying my first sewing machine As a sewing beginner, the first step of my sewing journey was to buy my first sewing machine. My budget wasn’t great along with that I didn’t know what type of machine to buy and what features I needed on a sewing machine. With thorough research, I found out that as a beginner all I needed was a sewing machine that has a straight stitch, reverse stitch, zigzag stitch and a buttonholer. Thank goodness my current machine the Empisal expression 889 was on special (currently, costs around R1799 Game retail store 2016/10/05) and it had all the basic features I needed to start sewing.
