Hi there, my name is Busisiwe a Thirty-something budding sewing bee from South Africa, Johannesburg.

I’ve always had an interest in sewing especially the idea of sewing my own clothes. I had always thought it would be difficult to learn how to sew so I stayed away from learning. Then I discovered Mimi G and I was so inspired to learn how to sew and I have never looked back. I’ve only been sewing for a few months now and decided to write a blog to document my journey. Hopefully, this will help other budding sewing Bees, if I can do it anyone can and it is so fulfilling.

Buying my first sewing machine  As a sewing beginner, the first step of my sewing journey was to buy my first sewing machine. My budget wasn’t great along with that I didn’t know what type of machine to buy and what features I needed on a sewing machine. With thorough research, I found out that as a beginner all I needed was a sewing machine that has a straight stitch, reverse stitch, zigzag stitch and a buttonholer. McCall's M6884 Mock wrap dress pattern review Hi, fellow sewing bees, I do not follow any type of beginner’s sewing course.  I usually just spend my time surfing the net and find looks I would like to sewing.
